about James street
James Street is our newest property which is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment to be ready for the start of the 2022 academic year.
Perfectly situated a 7 minute walk from the Obs Square UCT Res Jammie stop, students can get to campus quickly and easily. Medics are also only 9 mins away from the UCT Health Sciences Faculty. All the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and we are putting particular emphasis on creating rooms with lots of light and plants.
A home away from home in the popular suburb of Obs, with its wonderful community and vibey restaurants this fully furnished house is walking distance from the UCT Obs Square Jammie.
We are looking for hardworking, conscientious, and respectful mature students who would like to find a place they can make their home.
The property will be looked after by Lesley-Anne our friendly property manager, Patrick our handyman and a housekeeper.

“I’ve really enjoyed staying at James Street! Not only is the home peaceful which provides the perfect environment for studying, but it is also conveniently located to Groote Schuur Hospital and UCT. Lucinda and the staff have been incredibly welcoming and responsive and have ensured that the property is well maintained. Living at James Street has been an absolute pleasure! I highly recommend 4 Green Doors to any student looking for accommodation while studying in Cape Town”

“I moved to Cape Town in 2021 and lived in 9 Trill Road, when I moved back in mid 2022 of course I wanted to go back to one of Lucinda’s houses. Here are the reasons why – 1. Well-designed spaces for communal living but James Street also offers each individual their private space, the bonus is everyone has their own bathroom 2. The house is well maintained, and you will definitely fall in love with the light yellow walls, the big kitchen and the fire place for cosy winter study sessions in the living room. 3. Lucinda herself, an amazing, meticulous and efficient land-lady. Lastly the location of the house, situated at the heart of Observatory with short walking distances to all amenities ”
